The installation piece Courage, mixed media, 2021, uses the medium of installation art to explore the theme of life’s genesis. The symbol of the “circle” is employed to convey the unified duality of wave-particle duality, representing the particles of life. Four columns irregularly project identical spheres, symbolizing sperm and egg cells, which are represented by ping-pong balls. Lights beneath the columns illuminate simultaneously. When all four columns release the balls at once, the sperm and egg successfully combine. At that moment, all the lights glow, and a bear holding a balloon at the center rotates in a circle, signaling the birth of life.

During the epidemic, I found that many people were affected by different situations during this period and had negative emotions, and the author, as a transitional person among them, felt it, so I wanted to state the people and things around me from my own perspective and through this work people regain their insipid and sincere mental state after I return to normal life in the post-epidemic era. I hope to infect the viewer with my own positive energy. Based on this, the above-mentioned creative purposes, this work uses the traditional freehand style and intricate installations based on toys in children’s parks to express the exaggerated and optimistic image of the theme and the optimistic attitude toward life.
